SONG OF THE WEEK- Part 0

Kehne ko saath apne ek duniya chalti hai,
par chupke iss dil mein tanhai palti hai..

I wrote this because this is the song I'm listening to while writing today's post. Well, don't judge me on the basis of my song choice. I'm a little cringy in this matter😅
So, a very close friend of mine suggested me that I should come up with a series of 'SONG OF THE WEEK' on my blog! And, I said why not!(coz I'm already out of ideas lol)

I have a weird song collection, to be very honest. Most of the songs in my playlist are from early 2000s, something like 'koi kahe kehta rahe' or 'kun faya kun'. There are neither any English songs nor any latest songs. There was a time when I used to be an Ed Sheeran fan, listened to all of his songs on loop. But, then I realized 'kahin toh hogi woh' se better kuch nahi hai!
I just don't get the thing about English songs.. I mean, they don't make any sense to me. For ex-
So baby, pull me closer in the backseat of your Rover
That I know you can't afford
bite that tattoo on your shoulder
pull the sheets right off the corner
of the mattress that you stole
from your roommate back in Boulder
we ain't ever getting older

Firstly, the boy is asking the girl to pull him closer in her Rover. Then, he himself says that she can't afford a Rover! And also, it is a sort of a sexist comment, that why can't a girl afford a Rover? They should be grateful that Kangana Ranaut hasn't read it yet!😂
Secondly, who steals a mattress? Even if she did, is she going to carry it with herself all around the world? I'd rather do trigonometry than decoding English songs😂
Hamare Hindi songs ki lyrics suno! At least they make sense! (I ain't talking about BALA BALA BALA!) For example, there's a line in one of my favourite songs 'phir se ud chala', it says
"mitti jaise sapne yeh, kitabi palko se jhaado, phir aa jaate hain".

In my happy moods, I like to listen to Punjabi music. Not the fake punjabi music, but ekdum dhol types, jisse sunte he, you cannot resist bhangra! Bhangra is the best stress buster in this world, believe me!

So, all in all, if you too, would love to know about some awesome songs which continue to remain undiscovered gems, then you can follow this series. I promise there won't be any songs like BALA BALA BALA, or DJ WALE BABU MERA GAANA CHALADO, DJ MERA GAANA CHALADO, GAANA CHALADO, GAANA CHALADO(read it again in tune, and you'll be singing it for the whole day I bet😂)

Ab songs ki baat ho rahi hai, toh dance toh karna he padega! Here's me dancing for the first and last time in my life(coz I'm a really bad dancer)

School annual functions were fun, weren't they? Anyways, be tuned for some nice tunes!(pls don't kill me for this bad joke)
Until then, bye bye hoomans!

  3. Uhm i get your thoughts about english songs, but like you've gotta dive in for good songs right? if someone from abroad tries finding "good hindi songs" he's most likely to end up listening 'bala bala bala' , which i don't think is the ideal representation of the real "hindi songs ' that are actually good. same goes for people like us, we're listening to their' bala bala ' instead of listening to their 'phir se ud chala'.

    1. Well, this can be possible. But, I've already explored a lot and didn't seem to find something as good as kahin toh hogi woh... you can help if you want!
